Can you build a deck on a small city lot?

Yes. Small lots just take more planning. We design around setbacks, fences, trees and access, and we can carry materials in by hand when there is no room for equipment.

Do I need a permit for a deck in Ottawa?

In the City of Ottawa, decks more than 60 cm (about 2 ft) above the ground generally need a building permit, and so do most covered decks. We prepare the drawings and apply for you.

How close to the property line can I build?
