Lantern-lit garden pergola
A freestanding garden pergola with curtains, string lights and lounge seating, made for long summer evenings.
The project
An outdoor room at the end of the garden.
The homeowners wanted a destination in the yard: somewhere away from the house to relax in the evening.
We built a freestanding pergola on footings below the frost line, with a stout beam and rafter frame designed to carry curtains, string lights and hanging lanterns.
Outdoor curtains add privacy and shade on demand, and the lighting turns it into a warm, glowing room after dark.
